| Other | Age 88 years, 5 months, and 5 days. "John Williams, Sr. was an early pioneer in this township. He was born in Kentucky in 1801. He married Miss Pruitt in Kentucky [on Feb. 1, 1821] and they emigrated to Indiana. Here they raised a large family [of 9 children]: Melitta, who married Willis Record, and William Williams are well known here. His first wife died in the 1840s and he then married Elizabeth Whitaker [on Aug. 17, 1848]; they had but one child, who is now Mrs. John A. Wilson. His second wife died in 1883. He died in January 1890 and was buried at Samaria, next to his second wife." Parents: John and Sarah (Kirkendall) Williams. |
