He lived with Elijah, a half-brother, and then with Daniel White, the husband of his half-sister. Family moved to Illinois. David left to live with brother, Thomas Williams, in Boone Co., Ind. Enlisted in the Civil War: Co. E, 26th Reg. Ind. Vol.; was captured and spent 10 months in a prisoner of war camp. Returned to West Newton, Ind. Married Margaret Bennett/Barnett on Oct. 28, 1865. They were the parents of 7 children, two of whom died in infancy. (William T. born August 1866; Leander born June 1869; Hattie born 1875; Charley born 1878; and Flora born June 1883.) Mr. Williams died of cancer. |
