Other | Age 18 years, 10 months and 26 days. Son of W.W. and A.L. Wilhite. "Fred Wilhite, whose parents were Mr. and Mrs. William Wilhite of Monrovia, died in Greencastle. He was nearly 19 years old, and was a student at DePauw University in Greencastle." [From the Diary of Anna Stanton Harvey for March 14, 1889: "Attended the funeral of Freddie Wilhite; he was attending school at DePauw, had measles and then Typhoid Pneumonia. The day was beautiful and the church would not accomodate all present. Bro. Bales came with them and preached the sermon. It was very solemn and impressive; over 50 vehicles were in the procession to the graveyard."] |
