Other	Age 82 years, 8 months, 3 days. Masonic emblem. Born in North Carolina; son of Jacob Watson, who lived to be nearly 100 years old. "Died Friday, Simon Watson, of near Eminence. He was the father of A.J. and Alfred Watson of this city; G.W., W.H., and B.C. Watson and Mrs. W.C. Rhea, of Eminence; and James M. and John Watson, of Cloverdale. He married when he was 24 years old, and his wife survives him...From Eminence -- We regret to hear of the death of Uncle Simon Watson. He moved to this state when only 1 year old. At the age of 15, his mother died, and Simon had to take care of himself. He then came to Morgan County and in 1836 he married Miss Samira Bowman and to them were born 11 children, all living except a daughter who died years ago. They have all lived on this farm for 54 years."
