[From a letter from Elmina Moon to Owen Lindley, Jan. 1854: "There was a very amiable young woman, daughter of our friend Benjamin Thornburgh, departed this life night before last, and her funeral was attended last evening by a large number of relatives and friends. The night before she died she was struck both deaf and blind but still retained her right mind until within a very few minutes of her close. She expressed a willingness to die, not withstanding she said she would like to live but if it was the Lord's will to take her she was willing to go."] |
