Other	Age 86 years, 5 months, 8 days. Born July 25, 1795. "He joined the M.E. Church in 1820 and remained faithful to his last hour." "John Taylor, the venerable father of County Commissioner A.K. Taylor, died at his home in Johnson County, near Waverly, the 3rd. Father Taylor was 87 years old and was one of the few remaining soldiers of the War of 1812...Born in Virginia. His disease was dropsy of the heart. He was married to Sarah Brunnemer February 15th, 1821. He moved to Indiana in 1830. He served two terms in the War of 1812. He and his faithful wife were two of the seven that formed the first society of Methodists in the community. Grandmothers Smith, Paul, and Tressler, and Anthony Brunnemer and wife were the other five. His wife passed on before, September 2nd, 1864. He was the father of 7 children. Three have passed on in death, viz., James, Martha and William, who was a member of Co. C, the 33rd Indiana Volunteers and was killed in battle March 5th, 1863."
