| Other | Mrs. Philothea T. Sweet, relict of Elder Benjamin Sweet, a well known and much esteemed citizen who died in 1862, passed away April 28th, 1881, aged 72 years and 10 months. Mrs. Sweet, whose maiden name was Mills, was born in Flemingburg, Kentucky, June 29th, 1809; came to Martinsville in 1845, and married Elder Sweet in 1850 [on February 5]. After her husband's death, she made her home with her stepson, Austin Sweet. [Cemetery index gives date of death as April 28, 1879.] |
