Enlisted in US Army in 1951, serving during the Korean War. Wounded on June 24, 1951, later awarded the Purple Heart, and discharged on September 30, 1952. Married on February 14, 1953. After service worked at Ace Crum Chevrolet in Martinsville and retired from South Central Indiana REMC as a manager of member services in 1988. Preceded in death by his wife on July 30, 2002; his parents; siblings, Walter Raymond Skaggs, Marvin Skaggs, Harold "Shorty" Skaggs and Lucille Cox; dear friend and companion, Imogene Perry. |
