"Abraham Sims was born in Surry County, North Carolina. He was the son of John Sims, who was born 8 August 1793 and died 22 August 1837. His mother, Frances Sims, was born 18 May 1784 and died 13 September 1854. Both were natives of North Carolina. Abraham came to this county with his parents in 1834. On the 29th of March 1843, he married Ellen, daughter of Daniel and Sophia Graves. His wife died the 15th of April 1877." |
