| Other | Age 76. Born in Bourbon County, Ky. He was the third and last child (and only son) of Vincent and Ann Scott. Parents moved to Indianapolis in 1828; father died the same year, and mother and children went back to Kentucky. In 1835, his mother married Giles Mitchell, a widower with several children. The family moved to Martinsville in 1836, where J.K. has continued to live. Civil War veteran: Co. K, 7th Ind. Reg. Father of 2 children with first wife; both deceased. No children with second wife. Also preceded in death by both sisters: Mary Ann, widow of James M. Mitchell, and Sarah Jane, widow of Dr. Benjamin Barnard. Buried with Masonic rituals. |
