The ocean voyage took 6 months, during which time she and her 4 siblings lost their father, who was buried at sea. They landed in Baltimore, Md., and then settled in Virginia. Remained there until 1836, when they came to Indiana. Became a member of the M.E. Church. Mother of 9 children; one died in infancy, and one "a few years ago." The other seven survive her. (Husband died in 1873.) |
