Father of 10 children: Andrew Augustus, James Theodore, John Wesley, William Morris, Charles Fremont, Emma Marie (born 4 months after her father's death), and Euphemia/(Esther?)Harriet and Mary Jane, who died in early childhood; also two unnamed sons who died in infancy. 1860 census shows the value of his real estate as $16,800 and that of his personal estate as $2,145. (From the Martinsville Republican for June 9, 1887: "A.D. Robe, of Coffee County, Kansas, is visiting old friends in this county. Mr. R. is a son of William Robe, who was murdered on his farm in Green Township, during the war, by Knights of the Golden Circle [Southern sympathizers].") |
