Other | Age 88. "Mrs. Susan Prather died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hannah Miller; age 90. She was one of the pioneers of Morgan County. As a child, moved with her parents, [Silas and Hannah Voyles Townsend], to Martinsville. She married James Prather, who died about 25 years ago." Born in Washington Co., Ind. Her grandparents were William and Mary Townsend of the Carolinas. He was in the American Revolution from N.C., and moved to Washington County in 1810 and to Morgan in 1821. He is buried in a cemetery on Voyles Road. [The Martinsville Republican for Sept. 11, 1902 has a long article about Mrs. Prather and her memories of early Morgan County.
