She was from a family of 11 children, with only 2 brothers remaining. She was first married to Abington Hancock, 6 November 1842; they had 3 children. He died 30 September 1848. She again married, in November 1853, to Nathan Nicholas; they had 5 children. Her second husband died 10 July 1889. Half of the 8 children have passed away but only 2 were permitted to follow their mother to the grave."
