Came to Mooresville in 1845; worked with Samuel Moore, founder of the town. On June 16, 1850, he married his partner's daughter, Jane M. Moore; they had two children together: Samuel M. and Frank W. (deceased). Jane died August 24, 1853. Mr. Newby married Mary Rariden in Morgan Co., Ind. on April 18, 1870. |
