| Other | Age 84. Son of Wil Morgan. [Cemetery index gives name as B.F. Morgan.] Spent his whole life in Mooresville, Indiana. First wife, who was the daughter of Zimri Hadley, died in 1912. Mr. Morgan had a grocery store in Mooresville. One Saturday night in 1924, he closed the grocery about 10:00 P.M. as usual, and walked east on Harrison Street with the day's receipts in his pocket. As he was going by the Christian Church corner, he was suddenly struck over the head with a railroad spike. Mr. Morgan resisted and shouted for help, and the attacker ran away. The assailant was John Dillinger, who had failed in his first attempt at robbery. |
