Other | Age 88. Born Dec. 22, 1755 in North Carolina. Revolutionary War veteran: served with Capt. William Boskins in 1770. He was in the battles of Kettle Creek, Cowpens and Eutaw Springs. Later served two years with Gen. George Rogers Clark in the expedition to Kaskaskia and Fort Sackville. Returned to N.C. and married there; returned to Indiana to claim land granted for his service with Gen. Clark. Died at the home of his son Mordecai in Morgan Co., Ind. Buried in the Walnut Grove Cemetery south of Stilesville, which was part of Morgan County in 1844; it was disannexed in 1859 to become a part of Hendricks Co. |
