"Samuel Means was born at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Ohio at an early age, living there until manhood. He was united in marriage to Martha J. Howard, January 26th, 1854, then emigrated to Marion County, Indiana in 1854, and in August 1856 he moved to Morgan County, where he lived until the day of his death. He was the father of 5 children, 2 dying in infancy. He was buried in the new cemetery of the Union Church, White River bottom."
