McNeff Dead -- ...born in Morgan Co. near Mooresville in 1834 [son of Thomas Wright and Sarah Smith McNeff], but after the death of his parents, at the age of twenty-three he located on a farm in Washington County where in 1860 he was married to Miss Katherine Winslow. In 1867 Mr. McNeff sold his farm and moved to French Lick entering the mercantile business again conducting the same until his failing health caused him to retire one year ago. Preceded in death by youngest daughter, Mrs. Stephen Cox, who died about 2 years ago. Died at his home in Brooklyn after a serious illness of twelve weeks." |
