| Other | Age 56. "Shot Himself -- Elijah Mannan, living just West of Billtown, on the Morgan-Putnam County line, committed suicide Thursday by shooting himself. He and his son lived together. He was about 60 years old and was the son of the late William R. Mannan, who died recently. He leaves 2 sons, the one living at home, who is about 19, and the other, Ulysses Mannan of near Eminence. Mrs. Noah Patrick of Adams Township is a daughter. His wife has been dead about 6 years." Born in Morgan Co., Ind. Civil War veteran: Co. A, 33 Reg. Ind. Vol. Inf. Married first wife, the daughter of Elijah and Nancy Alexander Bourne, on Dec. 13, 1860. She died in 1879. Married for the second time on April 9, 1891. [He is buried next to his second wife.] |
