Other | Age 79 years, 13 days. "Born in Leitrim County, Ireland. His great ancestors came from Holland with Cromwell, about the close of the 16th century. His mother was of Scottish descent. His father's family consisted of 10 children, 4 sons and 6 daughters. He and 3 sisters, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha, came to America. He embarked on board a vessel April 12th, 1834, and on the 10th day of June landed in the city of New York, and from there went to Cleveland, Ohio on the 4th day of August 1834. In the fall of 1839, he came to Indiana and settled on a farm near Morgantown. He was married to Sarah Coleman of Cleveland on the 7th day of April, 1838. They had 9 children: 6 sons and 3 daughters. One died in infancy; Robert C. died at 12 and Davis at 13 years of age; and Edwin died after arriving at the age of maturity...Mr. Lloyd was born in the house in Ireland built by his grandfather near 200 years ago. He was left with a large estate from his father in Ireland, but never looked at it...He was buried at Mt. Nebo Church where rest the remains of a sister and other relatives." |
