Uncle Ike Lafavre was born on the Cumberland River in Kentucky, April 11th, 1801. His father was an old Revolutionary soldier who sold his farm to his grandfather, the late John Simpson, in 1813. When Ike was 12 years old, he emigrated to the Indiana Territory and settled in what is now Washington County, where he lived until the year 1826. He then moved to Lamb's Bottom."] Parents: Abraham and Mary Magdeline Brock Lafaver. Married Miss Cooper on Oct. 23, 1823. Father of 11 children. |
