| Other | Age 77. Born in Augusta, Va. on March 30, 1758; son of Rev. Alexander and Mary Blair Kelso. He never knew his parents; both died before his third birthday. They may have been killed by Indians. Alex and his siblings spent some years in the home of their Uncle Hugh. Revolutionary War soldier: Shelby's N.C. Mil.; also fought at the Battle of King's Mountain. Married in late May 1781 in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Father of 6 children: Charles B., Mary, Velva, Anna Goodwin, Dorcas, and James Balch Kelso. Buried in the old cemetery on Highway 252 just outside of Morgantown, Ind. (on the west side.) [Cemetery is also known as Jole Cemetery.] |
