Other	Age 64. Born in Franklin Co., Kentucky. In 1827 he moved with his parents [James and Mary Keen Johnson] to Brookville, Franklin Co., Indiana. Then he moved to Scipio in the same county, where he spent 10 years; then he lived in Peru, Ind. for 3 years. He then returned to Bedford, Ky. and stayed there for 3 years. Around 1845 he came back to Indiana and began business in Pike County. At the death of his brother-in-law, James W. Parker, in 1847, he came to Mooresville, Morgan County, and took charge of Mr. Parker's dry goods store. "Dealer in general merchandise, commenced business here in 1847 and is one of the oldest merchants in town. Occupies a large and handsomely fitted up brick store room and carries a complete assortment of everything in a first-class establishment. His goods are all bought at short intervals in the Eastern cities, therefore are new and attractive." Joined M.E. Church in December 1850.
