Other | Death of Alexander Hodge -- "On January 9th, he left home looking for a stray horse. On the 11th, he had supper with his father in Hendricks County, leaving there to return home about 11 P.M. Nothing was heard of him until Saturday afternoon, the 13th, when a young boy found him at a private crossing on Mill Creek, a quarter of a mile from his home, lying dead and frozen in the water. Jacob Horner, his brother-in-law, went to Eminence to advise George Kirkham, J.P. and Anderson Gumm, Constable. Foul play was suspected. He was taken to his father's place and buried there." Married in Morgan Co., Ind. on March 2, 1870. |
