Her parents died when she was quite small, and she was raised by an uncle. On 13 March 1834, she married John G. Hine, also of Lincoln County, N.C. In 1836, they, with 2 children, Mary and Sidney, moved west; they had a total of 9 children. Her husband died 6 June 1889 at age 83, and she then lived on their farm with their unmarried son Oliver L. Hine."
