She died near Monrovia at the age of 69. She was the mother of 8 children, 7 sons and 1 daughter. All survive her except 1 son who died at an early age. She was buried at West Union Cemetery beside her oldest sister, Phebe Hadley, who died March 11th, 1889." [From the Diary of Anna Stanton Harvey for Oct. 15, 1889: "Attended the funeral of Asenath Henley. It is 25 yrs. since she had a stroke of Paralysis which deprived her of speech and almost the entire use of her right side. She left an example of quiet patient cheerfulness that will not soon be forgotten by her friends."] |
