Other	Age 72. "Reese Hastings was born 24 October 1815, in Pennsylvania, and removed to Indiana with his father's family, to Morgan County, in 1835. He married Elizabeth Rudicil 15 December 1839 and to them were born 3 children: William K., John, and Hannah. John died in the Army at Baton Rouge, La.; Hannah, Mrs. Proctor, died at Winfield, Kansas, 5 November 1883. His wife Elizabeth died 3 March 1857. He was again married, to Sarilda Wellman, 3 December 1857, and they had 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. The oldest girl [Sarah] died at the age of 2. The others are still living." [After his death, Surelda married Thomas McConnell.]
