Married Matilda Burk(e), the daughter of Lucas and Elizabeth (Flowers) Burk(e), on March 3, 1831 in Morgan Co., Ind. Family legend says that he was killed "by a team of horses running off." He was buried on his farm at the Hammans-Stockwell Cemetery. [Today State Road 37 runs across what was his farm, and the cemetery is on private land.]
