Married in Esperstedt on Jan. 30, 1820. The family emigrated to America aboard the ship Brig Glove in 1834, arriving in Baltimore on August 2nd. They came to Morgan Co., Ind. in 1837. Father of 5 children: Johann Friedrich Christopher, Johann Carl Michael, Henry J., and Wilhilm Goerhold, and another child whose name is not known. [The spelling of the name was Goerhold or Gorholdt in Germany; in the US it is usually spelled Gerholdt. (Tombstone gives it as Gerholdt.)] |
