Other	Died -- Samuel H. Finchum, living in Ashland Township, aged about 28. It was first reported that he had been murdered by his brother-in-law Thomas G. Russell. In a post-mortem examination...and examination by a coroner's jury, it was determined that he had died of natural causes. [In March 1879, Mr. Finchum's wife left their two small daughters, ages 3 and 6, alone for the afternoon, and returned to find that the younger girl had fallen into the fire and had been burned to death.] Son of Robert and Elizabeth Rogers Finchum.
