Other | Only child born to the late Herbert K. and Ruby May (Behymer) Dillman, born in Martinsville. Spent his childhood in small town of Banta in rural Morgan County. Graduate of Martinsville HS in 1947, and earned a bachelor's degree in animal science from Purdue U. in 1951. Enlisted in US Army in July of 1951, serving during the Korean War, discharged on July 7, 1953. Married on March 26, 1955. Lobbied for Indiana Farmer's Union and Farm Bureau for forty years, retiring in 2015. During those years he also volunteered on countless community projects, committees, and boards. In 2000, he and his wife plus three other couples built the Morgan County Veteran's Memorial on the square. Alongside his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Wayne Dillman in 2017 and one daughter, Brenda Dillman Meza in 2007. |
