| Other | John Downey, Sr. died Friday at his home 7 miles South of town. He was 96 years old Sunday June 1st. He was born in Ireland in June 1806 and was married there 25 September 1832; they had 11 children, part were born in Ireland and part in America (Ohio). He and his family came to America in 1858, settling in Ohio and then in 1863 they came to Morgan County. His wife, whose maiden name was Mary McBryan, died 27 May 1897. |
