Gazette, Oct. 14, 1893: "Howard Dill, son of Erasmus Dill, living 3 miles East of Brooklyn, accidentally shot himself while buggy riding with his sweetheart, Miss Sadie Hobson. It is feared that he may not recover."] [Martinsville Republican, Oct. 12, 1893: "Howard Dill, of Brooklyn, was removed from the house of Miss Anna Hobson, who he was riding with at the time of the accident, to his parents, 3 miles North of Brooklyn.
