|Other||Born October 14, 1840, in Hendricks Co., Ind.; raised on a farm one mile east of Mooresville, Indiana. Parents: Harris and Rachel Bray. Converted to M.E. Church by Br. Walters. Joined I.O.O.F. on Dec. 21, 1870. Married Martha Turley on Jan. 24, 1872, and they lived at parents' home. Died there of consumption at the age of 39 years, 3 months, 8 days. [From the Diary of Elam Harvey for Jan. 23, 1880: "Learned this morning that Bro. Bray died last night about two o'clock...came with Eli Dakin to sit up with Bro. Bray's corpse. I have written a short account of his life to be read at the funeral tomorrow. He died in full faith and to the satisfaction of all."] Buried by the I.O.O.F. "in full form."|
