Other | Age 88. "A Prominent Citizen Gone -- Henry Branch died this morning at his residence. He was found by his niece, Miss Anna Taylor. He was the oldest resident of Martinsville. He was born in 1820 in Powhatan County, Virginia, and at age 10, he moved with his family to Central Kentucky. Afterwards, he located to Tramill County, Kentucky and married Miss Sarah Ashburne [on March 21, 1831 in Henry Co., Kentucky], and they had 12 children, with 6 still living, and 5 are boys. He came to Indiana in 1840 and settled in Johnson County, in the area known as Branch's Station. His wife died in 1878, after which he moved to Martinsville."
