Married first wife when he was 21; they had a daughter, Mary Jane. Wife died in 1810. Moved to North Carolina in 1823; married Mary Lindley in 1824. Moved to Ohio in 1831. Moved to Boone Co., Ind. in 1832, and to Monrovia 13 years later. Father of 9 children from his second marriage: Elizabeth Caroline, Phoebe Ann, Cynthia Persia, Daniel Webster, Ruth Temperance, Aaron Levi, Lucretia Josephine, Henry Clay, and Mary Harrison. Abner was a singing school master, a school teacher, and a medicine peddler. |
