| Other | Born in Ohio. Daughter of Thomas and Katy Ballard. She and her family settled on farm later occupied by George Conduitt, one mile east of Mooresville, in about 1820. She has been a resident of that vicinity ever since. Married Isaac W. Rooker on April 6, 1826. Became member of M.E. Church during great revival in 1838. Mother of nine children; 3 died in infancy and one son, William, died in the Civil War. Mrs. Rooker, who died aged 76 years and 17 days, was one of Morgan County's earliest settlers. |
