| Other | Age 69. Parents: George and Margaret House Sheets, natives of Germany. They came to US in 1814; first to Baltimore, then to Virginia, and in 1836, to Mooresville, Ind. Frederick was born in Prince William Co., Va. He and his brother had a dry goods store in Mooresville: "Dealers in general merchandise; established business in 1850, and carry a large line of well selected stock. Also extensive dealers in grain, country produce and stock, and handle a large number of hogs every season." Merchant, farmer, carpenter, stock grower; owned much property. Married Charlotte Hawk, daughter of Dr. Charles Hawk; they had 6 children, five of whom survive. (Laura Alice is deceased.) First wife died; married Caroline Peoples on Oct. 20, 1879. Cause of Frederick's death: motorcycle accident. |
