Came to Morgan County at the age of 14 years, where he has resided ever since. Married Mary Mathews on April 15, 1830. Married Elizabeth Chandler on Dec. 16, 1845. Father of 6 children by his first wife, and 7 by his second wife. He was one of the early boatmen who took goods down the river to New Orleans in the mid-1800s. "Died on Wednesday, the 15th inst. [1876] at 8 P.M. after a long and painful illness, in his 68th year...His death will be sadly mourned in the White Lick neighborhood." |
