[Cemetery index indicates that surname is spelled Ratcliff, but it is given as Ratliff in county marriage index, 1870 census, and newspaper account quoted above.] Son of John and Cecelia Johnson Ratliff of North Carolina. Married first wife on March 28, 1862; she died Dec. 21, 1862. Married for the second time on Dec. 11, 1864 in Morgan Co., Ind.
