Other	Robert W. Matthews, of South Main Street, died yesterday, age 49. His brother, Joseph Matthews, from New Jersey, was with him at the time of death. Before coming here, he lived at Shelbyville and before that at New Jersey. "The funeral of the late Robert Matthews was largely attended Friday. A brief sketch of his life was prepared by J.V. Mitchell. The deceased, Robert William Matthews, was born in Irvington, New Jersey, 9 April 1845, and he died 6 June 1894. He was of German parentage. His father was a weaver of linen and formerly a soldier in the German Army. At age 19, he went out on his own and spent 5 years in the U.S. Army."
