| Other | Age 29. "Ulysses Grant Ward died of lockjaw at his home in Amo, Hendricks County, Indiana, Saturday, August 2nd. He was born in the Northern part of Morgan County, 13 January 1873. He was the 2nd son of Hiram and Malinda (nee Smart) Ward, who were the parents of 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls. Only 4 sisters survive. Ulysses married Mettie Brown, the daughter of Alvin and Sarah Brown, in 1893, and they had 4 children, 3 girls and a son. One of the girls has died...From Hall -- Grant Ward of Amo, a former resident of this area, died Saturday." |
