He was an old and well known resident of Morgantown, near which place he was born February 5th, 1842. He was married to Kiziah J. Griffitt July 18th, 1861; she died July 29th, 1881. On June 26th, 1882, he married Mrs. Jane McNutt, who survives him. He also leaves 6 children." "Rev. J.M. Cooper was born in Johnson County, near Morgantown, and died at his home near Bedford." He had 3 children with his first wife, and 1 child with his second wife. "He had always lived in the house he was born in until about 2 years ago when he removed to Bedford."
