| Other | Age 70. Born in Rowan Co., N.C.; daughter of Ephraim and Ann Workman Goss. Married May 9, 1819 in Gosport, Owen Co., Ind. "Memoriam to the wife of Phillip Hodges. She was born in North Carolina, Rowan County, December 11, 1804. Her father, Ephraim Goss, moved to Indiana, Washington County, in 1810, lived there until 1818, then moved to near the White River, near where Gosport now stands. There I found here and there we united in marriage. We lived together 56 years, lacking 16 days. She has been a member of the Christian Church over 50 years. She is the mother of 10 children, eight are still living; two of them have gone to the spirit land over 30 years ago." Buried at Hill Dale. Children: Ephraim, John, Bathsheba, Noah, Joseph, Sarah, Thomas, Anna, Harvey and Henry. |
