Other Age 66. "Balam Bolin, living on the Morgan edge of Monroe County, died yesterday. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky but came to this county at a young age. He was a Civil War veteran and his wife died last September." Flag at the gravesite. [From the Martinsville Republican for Jan. 7, 1886: "Birthday Dinner -- Uncle Balam Bolin was born in Eastern Kentucky, on the South Fork of the Kentucky River in Clay County, in 1829. When 4 years old, he emigrated with his parents to Morgan County and has lived here ever since. On August 10th, 1862, he enlisted in the 67th Indiana Regiment and was taken prisoner with his regiment at Manfordsville, Kentucky about September 15th or 20th."] Father of 11 children, with 10 surviving.
