| Other | Age 70. Born at Dille's Bottom, Belmont Co., Ohio; son of Moses and Jane McGill Dilley. Married on Dec. 27, 1835 in Preble Co., Ohio. Father of 10 children: Oliver C., Sarah Jane, William Asbury, Martha Ann, Mary E., John Wesley, Lucretia Ella, Elvira Melissa, James Monroe, and an unnamed infant. "Arthur B. (sic) Dilley, son of Moses and Jame Dilley, was born December 27th, 1814 in Guernsey Co., Ohio. At the age of 3, his parents agreed to allow him to live with David From until his majority. At age 16, he left his internship with Mr. From, since he was not living up to the original agreement. In 1835, he united in marriage with Elizabeth McInturf in Preble Co., Ohio. To them were born 10 children, 5 sons and 5 daughters. He removed to Jefferson Township, Morgan Co., Ind., making the journey by ox-cart and arriving the 1st day of August 1842. In the later part of 1857, he and his family moved to Kansas, but returned the following year. Father Dilley died November 14th." |
