Other | Squire Faulkner died Saturday, age 65. He was born in North Carolina, 29 August 1829. At age 6, he and his parents moved to Hendricks County, near Belleville. His father died 3 years later while working on a canal in Ohio. Due to the lack of communications, his wife never heard about the circumstances of his death or where he was buried. He had 3 brothers, and he was the second in age. They were reared by Evan Davis, a wealthy Hendricks County farmer. The brothers were: William, now living at Clayton; Joseph, now living at Columbus; and Isaac B., who died at Mitchell 6 years ago. Three of his brothers were in the Civil War. Five years before going into the service, he married Miss Elizabeth Hiatt. They had a son, named Bascom, and 2 other children who died in infancy. His wife died after the Civil War and he moved to Mitchell. Two years later, he moved to Martinsville. In 1868, he married Miss Harriet Elizabeth Clark, who survives him and who is the mother of Wallace Faulkner. Civil War veteran: Co. B, 7 Ind. |
