| Other | From Hall -- Mrs. Martha Brown, widow of the late Wilson Brown, died Wednesday of last week. "Martha Lucretia Brown died at her home in Hall, Wednesday 20 August 1901. She was born at Virginia and was nearly 84 years old at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Diss and George Ford, and was from a family of 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls. She and her family moved to Kentucky, where she married James W. Brown in 1835. They had 9 children, 4 sons and 5 daughters, with only 4 surviving. Several years after their marriage, they moved to Morgan County. Her husband died 3 years ago last March. After his death, she, a son and a daughter, moved to Hall." |
