Other | Dr. W.C. Banta died at his home last evening. He was born at Belleville, Hendricks County in August 1839; he was about 63 years old. He was a Civil War veteran and attained the rank of Lt. Col. [Co. A, 7 Ind.] Dr. Banta was married in August 1861 to Miss Elizabeth May of Rossville, Indiana. His son, T.S. Banta, is Deputy Postmaster here. He and his family moved to Eminence in 1870 and to Martinsville in 1885. |
